Scuttling the Navy August 29, 1943:Minesweeper SØHUNDENBy Søren Nørby, arts studentThe minesweeper SØHUNDEN, which was commissioned into the Danish navy during the summer of 1943, was on August 29th laying decommissioned, laid up in reserve at the Royal Dockyard, where it was blown up and scuttled. Raised September 20th and it served in the German navy until May, 1945, where it was found in Aarhus harbor. Served in the Danish navy until 1962.
