Scuttling the Navy August 29, 1943:

Torpedo Boat MAKRELEN

By Søren Nørby, arts student

On August 29th, the old torpedo boat MAKRELEN was laying next to HVALROSSEN and PEDER SKRAM near the old Rigging Shears.

At 0420 the ship was blown up and scuttled by its crew.

It was raised on October 13th.

MAKRELEN broke in two and was placed on land on October 14th.

Most of the wreck was broken up and scrapped during the war by the Germans.

MAKRELEN placed on land close to the German crane
