Scuttling the Navy August 29, 1943:
Submarines DRYADEN
and FLORA
By
Søren Nørby,

The submarines FLORA and DRYADEN were both scuttled at the Royal
Dockyard on August 29th. Both submarines were decommissioned, laid up in
reserve.
Due to shallow water, FLORA could not be completely flooded.
FLORA was raised on November 1st, and
DRYADEN was raised twelve
days later.
Neither was used by the Germans, and they were found at the
Royal Dockyard in May, 1945.
Both were subsequently scrapped; DRYADEN in 1946 and
FLORA in 1952.
