Scuttling the Navy August 29, 1943:Submarine BELLONABy Søren Nørby, arts student The submarine C.2. BELLONA was laying at the Royal Dockyard on August 29th, but was decommissioned, laid up in reserve. It was scuttled at 0412. BELLONA was raised on November 4, 1943, but the Germans made no attempt to use the sub. It was found at the Royal Dockyard in May, 1945. Stricken in 1946 and sold for scrap in 1952.
