Missile Incident at Lumsaas
The frigate
PEDER SKRAM, commanded by commander s.g.
Jens L. Winther, accidentally launches a HARPOON missile. The SSM
missile strikes a residential area close to Lumsaas in North Western Zealand.
Fortunately, no people are injured.

Copenhagen capitulates to British forces 5 nights of heavy
terror bombardments (rockets etc.) to the city.
As part of the capitulation the Danish had to deliver the fleet and all of
its equipment to the British. |

Peer Rasmussen, is reported missing in the Skagerak after missing radio
check.
SUBMISS is established, and a large number of ships, aircrafts and
helicopters start a search for the missing sub.

HENRIK GERNER at around 5 o'clock in the morning on September 5.

The corvette

Danish Parliament resolves Resolution # B 146 comitting the Royal Danish
Navy to take part in the naval part of the expanded UN operations off
Lebanon (UNIFIL).

FLYVEFISKEN Class. |

and 3 is commissioned. The shallops are equipped with torpedo launchers.
Lieutenant Sigurd Bojesen is assigned the first commander.

the shallops are equipped with torpedo launching tubes, and renamed Torpedo
Boat No. 1,

The Danish Flotilla
The Danish Flotilla is established in Karlskrona, Sweden, as part of The
Danish Brigade.
Commander Johannes H. J. Jegstrup is appointed flotilla commander. The
flotilla is composted of the ships, that managed to escape to Sweden
following the German attack on the Danish Navy, August 29, 1943.
The patrol boat HAVKATTEN, Lieutenant Commander Poul Würtz,
is assigned as Command Ship. |
