Battle of Eckernførde Ship-of-the-Line
CHRISTIAN VIII, the frigate GEFION and the paddle steamers HEKLA
and
GEISER, commanded by Commander s.g. Paludan attacks the German
gun batteries at Eckernførde inlet.
The ship-of-the-line takes fire and blow up, while the frigate is conquered
by the Germans. |

Vice
Admiral Lord Nelson is introduced to the Cops of Naval Cadets and donates 2
Gold Medal with inscription.
One of the Gold Medals is still kept at Søværnets Officersskole (the Naval

Naval Dockyard at Gammelholm (central Copenhagen) is closed and moved to
Nyholm (Holmen).
Gammelholm was established by King Christian IIIrd around 1536, and was
until 1680 named Bremerholm |

The Battle at Dybboel
- The armored ship
ROLF KRAKE, commanded by Commander Hans Peter Rothe,
takes part in the defense of Dybboel from the inlet at Vemmingbund. |

Minelayer
FYEN collides with a Soviet MIRKA-class frigate in
the Baltic. |

The
offshore patrol frigate
VÆDDEREN arrives at Reykjavik, Iceland returning
those part of the Icelandic historical manuscripts, which Denmark agreed to
hand back. |

Orders
are issued stating that the French ships-of-the-line LE PULTUSK
and LE
DANZIG of the Emperor Napoleon's squadron at Schelden, commanded by Rear
Admiral Missiessy are to be manned with Danish sailors, and the Commanders Sigvard U. Rosenwinge
and Hans Baron Holsten as commanding officers.

gunboats, commanded by Sub Lieutenant Christen F. Klinck, fights at Kongshavn
near Uddevalla, Sweden, against the British cutters THE SWAN and HERO.
THE SWAN is captured, while HERO manage to escape. |

fishery inspection off the west coast of Jutland, the patrol boat NYMFEN
fires 4 rounds with its automatic gun to stop a Dutch trawler performing
illegal fishing. |

Marineforeningen (Mariners Association) is founded making Captain Christian F. Maegaard
the first chairman. |

Flådestation KØBENHAVN, (Naval Base Copenhagen) at Holmen is reduced
to a Naval Station.
The ships and other activities are transferred to the Naval Bases at Korsoer
and Frederikshavn.
Captain F. Volke became the last commander of the Naval Base. |
