Comments to the Class

All three subs were designed to have 5 torpedo tubes. 3 fore, 1 aft and 1 moveable in the conning tower.

The design with a moveable torpedo tube in the conning tower was unsuccessful, therefore only the first sub, ROTA, was equipped with this torpedo tube. BELLONA was equipped with an extra radio room in stead, and FLORA was equipped to carry mines.

Additional Notes

All three subs were shuttled in Copenhagen on August 29, 1943. Later salvaged, but not in service with the Germans.

Located at Holmen in May 1945, but further repair was abandoned. All three subs were sold for scrapping in 1952.
