Submarine Capsized (1979)

The submarine SPÆKHUGGEREN was together with the sub NARHVALEN in for a major overhaul at the Naval Dock Yard in Copenhagen and both subs where placed in Floating Dock No. 4.

On September 21, 1979 the SPÆKHUGGEREN had finished its overhaul and should be refloated, but due to some serious malfunctions, the submarine capsized in the floating dock causing severe material damage to the sub.
